Happy Birthday, Canada!
Canada is about to celebrate its 150th anniversary; and there are plenty of things to do to celebrate. Whether you are a proud Canadian resident, or a sightseeing tourist, these outdoor activities should be on your list of things to do on July 1, 2017.
1. Remax Canada Day Fireworks
Start time is 10:00PM at Okanagan Lake in the city of Penticton.
2. Music Festivals and Performances across the country:
Pencticton music runs from 12:30PM-9:30PM right before the fireworks. Music ranges from rock cover bands and country jams to slow jazz and pop funk.
Toronto music can be seen at the Woodbine Centre from July 1-2, 2017 with Toronto rap performances and reggae dancing!
The Trackside Music Festival runs from July 1-2. 2017 in London, Ontario and features Country singers including Thomas Rhett, Dallas Smith, Kip Moore and Meghan Patrick.
3. Niagara Falls 'Oh, Canada' Dinner Show
The dinner show consists of over 70 all-Canadian music with folk songs to modern pop. This is a great family-oriented event. Dinner included with show.
4. Annual Montreal Canada Day Parade
An on-going celebration since 1977, Montreal's Canada Day Parade celebrates the various ethnic and cultural communities of the country. Parade offers free cake and live entertainment. Free event! Begins on July 1, 2017 from 11:00AM-4:00PM, starting on Ste. Catherine Street.
5. Nova Scotia Festivities
Ceremony will take place from 2:00-4:30PM at the S&L Railway Station in Louisbourg. The festivities include cake cutting, free BBQ and live entertainment.
