Why Buy Poly Dog Fence

by Jenn Smith December 10, 2019

The word plastic really gets a bad rep. When we think of "plastic," words that come to mind include "cheap," "flimsy," or "weak." But, poly dog fencing is not weak; and it can be a great choice for yard fencing for pet owners that have adopted small dog breeds.

Take a chihuahua for example. They are one of the smallest dog breeds in the world; and while they may be feisty at times, they do not require a heavy duty fence. Chain-link fence, and other types of metal fence, may be overkill for these types of dogs, wouldn't you agree?

Here is a brief list of dog breeds that would be suitable for poly dog fence:

  • Pomeranian
  • Pug
  • Yorkshire Terrier
  • Toy Poodle
  • Dachshund
  • Maltese
  • Shih Tzu
  • Bichon Frise
  • Papillon
  • Beagle

Plastic dog fencing has a breaking strength of 650-1400 pounds; and while not chew-resistant, this type of fence is strong enough to secure these smaller dogs in yards. When considering fence for small dogs, don't spend the money on metal fencing; but instead choose a poly dog fence.
