Where Are Ticks Found?

by Jennifer Smith May 02, 2019

Let's be honest, ticks are everywhere; and are a major problem in the spring and summer months when the weather is warm and people are spending time outside.

Ticks tend to hide in grassy and wooded areas where they can easily seek warm-blooded mammals to feed on for food including white-tailed deer, rodents, people and pets.

Outdoor enthusiasts that participate in these recreational activities are at high risks of tick infections such as Lyme Disease:

  • Gardening/Farming/Landscaping
  • Hiking
  • Camping
  • Fishing (fresh water)
  • Gathering wood
  • Construction
  • Horseback riding
  • Hunting

When outside, it is advised to carry a tick removal tool in case an embedded tick is found in the skin.
