What Ticks, Mosquitoes and Vampires Have In Common

by Jennifer Smith June 28, 2018

A research group in Kingston, Ontario may have a tick spray in-the-works containing an all natural ingredient that will rid mosquitoes, ticks, geese and other nuisance animals - oh, and of course, vampires.

The secret weapon: garlic - a 100% all natural resource for the spray.

Ticks and mosquitoes hate garlic and they will wander, or fly, elsewhere if they smell it. Geese are posing health concerns to other animals and are a safety issue for motorists crossing streets.

While the smell of garlic will not affect humans, we will smell it until it dries - this may take up to 30 minutes. After heavy rains, gardeners will need to re-apply the spray every four or five weeks.
