Warm Weather Brings Tick Concerns

The weather temperatures are creeping up which means that spring is around the corner. With the change in climate comes excitement for outdoor enthusiasts but also challenges. Ticks being one of the challenges.

And, March is officially the start of tick season. 

While not all ticks carry tick diseases, such as Lyme Disease, ticks are dangerous and can cause lifelong health complications for both humans and pets. While camping, hiking and gardening, outdoorsy people should carry tick remover tools with them to quickly and safely remove ticks.In Canada, there are approximately 40 species of ticks in almost every Canadian providence. Ticks tend to hide underneath leaves, logs and the fur of animals to seek blood (food) and insulation from the elements. They pass from white-tailed deer, rodents, humans and pets; and they are not picky to the type of animal they receive blood from.
