It's coyote breeding season; and this means that homeowners, hikers and gardeners may encounter coyotes.
Coyotes attack small dog breeds including terriers and chihuahuas. Coyotes do chew and dig; and they will stop at nothing to reach poultry and small pets. Coyotes rarely attack humans; but they are known to attack pets including domestic dogs; stray cats and backyard chickens. Coyotes don't always roam in packs; in fact in areas with low human activity, coyotes will hunt prey during the day with partners in crime.
The best method for repelling coyotes from yards is to build a 6' feet high metal dog fence around properties. Coyote Rollers can be applied at the top of the fence to deter these wild animals. Dogs can wear spiked vest to scare away coyotes while outside, as well.
