Snow Is Coming. There's a Fence For That.

by Jenn Smith October 30, 2019

Now that fall is in full swing, farmers and gardeners have enough to worry about, with protecting growing sites from incoming frost damage; and now they have to deal with the threat of mounds of snow. But, it's all good because there is a fence for that called snow fencing (how original). This type of fence is best used by growers driving heavy farming equipment around premises or to keep snow off landscapes such as gardens or farms.

Snow barrier fence
is bright in color (usually orange like safety/construction fencing) and is used to protect landscapes from snow forces. A snow fence forces wind-blown drifting snow to a desired place to minimize the amount of snow on roads and landscapes.

Snow Fences should be installed upwind of the area you want to keep clear. Trenching the fence can also catch melting snow and direct it to another area.

Protecting landscapes and people on the road is a must in fall and winter; and snow fence will help minimize risks.
