Protect Pets From Wildlife Attacks This Fall

by Jennifer Smith October 08, 2018

Wildlife attacks are most common in the fall season, as all animals are spending time outside for various reasons. Domestic animals want to take the opportunity to enjoy the cool air of autumn, while deer and other wild animals are out scouting yards for food. This leads to conflict. This October, homeowners are encouraged to protect pets from wildlife encounters with fencing.

Fawns stand by does during the fall season and bucks stay close to does. This means double trouble for pets that are curious about the young baby deer. Pets that get too close to babies may be intercepted by doe and attacked by bucks with their antlers or strong legs.

October is Animal Safety and Protection Month. Keep the peace with wildlife this season; and separate dogs from deer with pet fencing. This will allow pets to wander the yard without being attacked by deer; and will block deer from jumping onto yards and eating home gardens

It's a win-win for homeowners and #pets - but not so much for #deer. #sorrynotsorry
