Prevent Rabbit Damage In Gardens

by Jennifer Smith October 15, 2018

Bunnies are adorable - with their bushy tails and floppy ears - it's hard not to love them. Until they venture into vegetable gardens and eat all the fall-weather crops.

To prevent garden damage, gardeners are encouraged to install a steel fence with PVC-coating. You may know that rabbits chew; but did you know that their teeth grow 1/2 inch per month? This process can be very painful for a rabbit; and that is why they are seen 'sawing' down on wood or other materials to trim their teeth.

The PVC-coating on the metal fence acts as a protective, secondary layer of protection. It also helps reduce the risk of heat corrosion and other damaging weather elements.

For rabbit control, trench the steel fence into the ground at least 6 inches to stop rabbits and bunnies from burrowing underneath the fence. This trench action can also be applied for groundhogs.

Rabbit fences are necessary for gardeners in the fall and winter growing months.
