In 2011, there were approximately 600,000 cats in animal shelters waiting for forever homes. The numbers remain the same today. While there are many ways to adopt cats, DeerbustersCanada advocates for the adoption of cats this June from animal shelters to reduce the homeless cat population.
Cats brought to shelters risk euthanization, if cats are not adopted in a certain time period. Cats not adopted feel unloved and unwanted. When pet owners choose to adopt cats from animal rescues, they are choosing to save lives.
