It's Okay To Let Cats Outside.

by Jenn Smith September 27, 2019

Like dogs, cats need time to go outside and explore the great outdoors. They need socialization, time spent with other animals and an open area to run around and exercise.

Obesity in cats is becoming an increasing health problem. In fact, the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention estimates that close to 58 percent of cats are overweight or obese. How can we, as pet owners, prevent cats from becoming a statistic?

Diet and Exercise.

Ask veterinarians for help in determining a strict diet plan for cats. Give kitties fresh water and a healthy amount of food. Then, turn to fitness:

Place cats inside the fenced-in backyard and play with them. Throw balls of yarn or have them chase laser pointers. Build a cat tower for cats to jump from level to level and allow them to squat, jump and flex their muscles!

Cats need exercise just as much as dogs. Increase longevity of life in kitties with proper nutrition and exercise.
