Grow Pollinating Plants For Bees

by Jennifer Smith June 12, 2018

Bees rely on the sweet nectar and pollen from pollinating flowers in order to survive; and thanks to bees, we are able to consume over 90 percent of the world's foods. In order to protect bees, and to help ourselves eat delicious fruits and veggies, gardeners must plant pollinating flowers such as....

  • Asters
  • Lavender
  • Coneflower
  • Sunflower
  • Lantana
  • Black-eyed Susan
  • Bee Balm

Some of these plants can be used to rid deer from gardens, as they are deer-resistant plants that deer hate to eat and smell. They can be used as secondary barriers around a garden fence to keep deer away while helping bees feed on pollen and nectar.

Help bees this National Pollinator Month...and do your part to save the bees!
