The theme for Earth Day 2018 is to say 'No' to plastic pollution.
Plastics thrown in the ocean destroy the beauty of our lakes and harm fish that get tangled up in plastic bottle holders. Plastics that are burned away are releasing harmful gases that hurt our ozone layers and the air we breathe.
Quit acting trashy; and take care of Mother Earth! Pick up trash and stop littering. Start recycling cans, paper and plastics; and snip plastics before tossing them away so wildlife do not get caught up in the material.
There are many ways to get involved in Earth Day events. Protect natural settings and wild animals by working with local wildlife agencies and conservation units. Help build a deer fence around landscapes to protect the scenery from wildlife damage.
Even landfills are doing their part to stop wind-blowing debris by building 4-6' feet tall metal fences around recycling and waste management sites.
It's time to follow in the footsteps of the Earth Day Network. Do good for your planet.
