Canada Golf Season Begins

by Jennifer Smith April 10, 2019

Golf fanatics are excited to hear that golf season is active in Canada. While some Canadian Providences started in March, many are set to open for business by next week. Here's the active golf schedule in Canada based on providence:

  • BC = Mar. 1 – Nov. 15
  • AB = Mar. 1 – Oct. 31
  • SK = Apr. 15 – Oct. 31
  • MB = Apr. 15 – Oct. 31
  • ON = Apr. 15 – Oct. 31
  • QC = Apr. 15 – Oct. 31
  • NS = Apr. 15 – Oct. 31
  • NB = May. 1 – Oct. 31
  • PE = Apr. 16 – Nov. 14
  • NL = Apr. 1 – Nov. 30

British Columbia boasts some of the best golf resorts in the country; and many are open year-round even in snowy conditions! (Not to say there aren't other great golf courses in Canada - but, wow!)

Golf course owners and maintenance staff will need to consider the safety of players and spectators throughout the year, as many wildlife are known to approach golf courses to rub up against trees and damage beautiful plants on-site. Since the golf industry brings in an estimated $19 billion in total direct sales, golf related travel, and capital spending, golf owners must preserve the look and feel of the golf course for visitors. To keep wildlife away from people, owners should consider installing fencing around the perimeter of the landscape.

Golfers are ready to play without distractions from deer. Who's ready to put deer off the greens?
