So, your dog is ready to be one with nature. It's time to build a dog enclosure in the backyard that will improve animal health and will get your pup up-and-moving. But, which fence is the best fit for your dog breed?
Small, Calm Dogs
Generally speaking, a poly dog fence is best for small dogs. The fence material is made from a durable plastic that is strong enough to securely enclose these types of dogs; however, it lacks the benefits of chew-proof metal. For mellow dogs that wish to play more than challenge the fence, this is a great choice.
Large, Chewing/Digging Dogs
Large dogs are usually the rambunctious party animals that will most likely jump on the fence, chew the fence material, or try digging underneath the fence to reach whatever they see on the other side. This is why a metal dog fence with PVC-coating is best. Steel dog enclosures will not harm the dog's teeth or over all health in any way; but will protect the fence mesh from chewing damage.
