Benefits Of Dog Fencing

by Jennifer Smith October 30, 2017

Some dog owners may not understand the importance of a dog fence in the backyard; but I am here to tell you that dog fencing is a must for all dog breeds. There are many reasons why a dog fence can improve animal wellness.

Reduces the risk of pet obesity

According to the Association For Pet Obesity Prevention, 54 percent of dogs are overweight or obese in the United States. This may be due to overfeeding, lack of exercise or a combination of factors. A dog fence provides a secure enclosure for pets to run around and get the exercise they need to keep lean.

Socialization

Like us, dogs need to play with other animals; and it's easy for pet owners to let dogs outside in the backyard away from trouble. Having a dog fence for play dates is helpful for owners who don't live near dog parks.

The Humane Factor

I don't like the idea of an electric dog fence; and if you are anything like me, you won't want to use an invisible dog fence or shock collar on your dog that will hurt them and harm them psychologically. This is why DeerbustersCanada only carries humane dog fences that will not hurt the dog. You see, invisible dog fencing may be more attractive in the backyard, but it's at your dog's expense.

Training Puppies

Bringing home a puppy is similar to that of a newborn baby. Puppies need time to get acquainted with their surroundings and they will need to learn to go outside to be potty-trained. Having an outdoor dog enclosure helps with teaching basic dog commands such as "Sit," "Stay," and "Release."

Bonding Purposes

Last but not least, dogs can interact with their owners and play Frisbee and other games. This is a safe and convenient area for both owner and pet to bond and learn from one another.
